Ciao Amici,
It’s my birthday today, and while I’m all for celebrating with good food, great Italian wine (I’m really into wines from Mt Etna recently, especially the Narello Mascalese grape), and a little bit of tiramisu (okay, a lot of tiramisu), I also want to give YOU a gift.
This week had a recurring theme; and nope, it had nothing to do with politics or weather.
It was all centered on brand clarity—with clients, with partners, and with students, who showed up at the local university (RCBC) to chat about Super Bowl ads.
Zooming out, the best brands (and commercials) all share one thing in common:
👉 They focus on a single-minded idea.
Think about the Super Bowl commercials that actually stood out—not the ones that threw a dozen messages at you, but the ones that had one strong, clear, and memorable idea.
🔹 Instacart letting everyone know that no matter what your favorite brand is at the store, they can get it to you fast.
🔹 JEEP going all out for 90 seconds permitting everyone to chase what makes them happy.
Meanwhile, brands that tried to say too much? They got lost in the noise.
🔹 Seal was funny, but wow there was a lot going on in that Mountain Dew spot
🔹 The mustache spots (Pringles & Little Ceasars) was just ironically and weirdly cut from the same cloth that had me scratching my head
What This Means for Your Brand
Clarity wins. Every time.
If you can’t sum up your brand’s core message in a single sentence, neither can your audience.
So, here’s my birthday gift to you.
I put together a 1-page Brand Clarity Worksheet to help you define your single-minded idea—the foundation of a strong, memorable brand.

Your Turn
1️⃣ Hit reply and tell me: What was your favorite Super Bowl ad this year? Why did it work for you?
2️⃣ Fill out the worksheet—it takes 5 minutes, and I’d love to hear your biggest insight.
Cheers to clarity, growth, and another lap around the sun. 🚀
