Real Talk. What I Learned When No One Showed Up
It didn’t go as planned, but I’m turning it into something better. Help me shape what’s next.
Cheers to you and the thousands of awesome people finding value in the All About Branding newsletter. I appreciate you and if you love the content, then think about becoming a paid subscriber. It helps to keep the lights on and the coffee brewing.
Ciao Amici,
No one showed up to the first Branding Happy Hour. 😳
At first, I was frustrated.
But after sitting with it, I realized something important—I didn’t truly listen to what you need.
So here’s what I learned:
Assumptions kill connection. I assumed you wanted a live session, but maybe that’s not what you need right now.
Value has to be clear. If it’s not obvious how this helps you, that’s on me.
It’s about you, not me. I want to meet you where you are, not where I think you should be.
Now, I need your help.
What Would Actually Help You Right Now?
Would short videos with branding tips be more helpful?
More step-by-step guides?
Different times or formats for live sessions?
More behind the scenes of what I do every day for businesses?
Hit reply and tell me.
Seriously.
Your feedback will shape how I show up for you moving forward.

You’re receiving this email because, in some way or another, we’ve done business together over the past 15 years. Maybe it was through a past agency I was part of. Maybe it was direct. Or maybe you signed up for a webinar, listened to a podcast, or engaged with me on the internet. Regardless, I’m thrilled you’re here.
Love this 'Assumptions kill connections.' The problem was—no free pizza! 😂 But seriously, it's all about co-creating. Otherwise, I know how boring my stuff, especially all the branding bla bla, can get when it's just a solo effort.
Yo Steven, I totally get how it feels to launch something and not get an immediate response. But hey, nobody shows up to a good party on time.
To answer your question, I'm curious how my first 10 engaged readers on Substack find me.
