Love this 'Assumptions kill connections.' The problem was—no free pizza! 😂 But seriously, it's all about co-creating. Otherwise, I know how boring my stuff, especially all the branding bla bla, can get when it's just a solo effort.
Consistency is the key. Show up, create value in your own voice, and approach your journey as the student instead of the master. That seems like a good strategy to me.
*Update: I realize my comment may have come across as passive-aggressive—that wasn’t my intent. I just meant that offering advice before asking about my newsletter or audience felt a bit impersonal.
I also found the advice a bit generic—I was hoping for more of a conversation with you, especially since you were vulnerable about no one showing up to your open house and that's something I can relate to. I thought discussing it here could be valuable for others as well.
I appreciate this, but the way this convo is going doesn’t feel very productive. It sounds like you’re suggesting you're confused because of me, which has a much different vibe than general curiosity. I’d enjoy engaging at a different level, but I don’t think we’re quite aligned here. All the best man.

Collaboration is key! It’s too easy to stay in your own vacuum at times. Thanks for the reminder.
Yo Steven, I totally get how it feels to launch something and not get an immediate response. But hey, nobody shows up to a good party on time.
To answer your question, I'm curious how my first 10 engaged readers on Substack find me.

I wonder what I think. Thanks anyways.

Hmmmm. We might be talking past each other and now I'm confused.
When you say "advice a bit generic" what are you referring to?
What are you working on?
